Commercial CCTV Repairs & Monitored Security System in Leigh
When Clearway Drains contacted Tameside Security, its commercial CCTV system was leaving major gaps in site coverage. With multiple buildings, commercial vehicles, car parks and external working spaces to protect, the business needed its security systems repaired, tested and fully brought back online.
The monitored CCTV system also formed part of the company’s wider security arrangements for insurance purposes, making it particularly important that every camera, connection and monitoring service was operating correctly.
Our engineers attended the Leigh site to carry out repairs, maintenance and servicing on the existing Hikvision IP CCTV system, monitored alarm system, PA system and GJD perimeter security equipment.
The Challenge
Clearway Drains had a 16-camera Hikvision IP CCTV system covering several buildings, external areas, yards and car parks. However, when we arrived on site, only three cameras were operational.
This meant there were significant blind spots across the premises, reducing visibility around valuable vehicles, equipment, access points and working areas. The remote off-site monitoring services also needed checking to make sure the system could continue to provide the level of protection the site required.
For a commercial premises with vehicles, specialist equipment and materials left on site, incomplete CCTV coverage can create both practical security concerns and potential issues where monitored protection is required for insurance purposes.
A CCTV or alarm system is only useful when it is working properly. Faulty cameras, failed connections and monitoring issues can leave a business unaware of a problem until after an incident has happened.

Tameside Security carried out a full inspection of the existing system before completing the required repairs, maintenance and monitoring checks.

Commercial CCTV Supporting Insurance Requirements
The monitored CCTV system was an important part of the security measures in place to support the customer’s insurance requirements.
With commercial vehicles, specialist drainage equipment, tools, materials and several buildings across the site, the business required dependable coverage of its entrances, parking areas, yards and internal storage spaces.
Restoring all 16 cameras and checking the remote monitoring services meant the customer once again had a fully operational system providing extensive coverage across the premises.
Commercial insurance requirements can vary depending on the business, the value of the assets being protected, the site location and the insurer’s individual conditions. Businesses should always confirm the required CCTV, alarm and monitoring specification directly with their insurance provider.
The Result
By the time the work was completed, Clearway Drains had gone from just three working cameras out of 16 to full operational CCTV coverage across the site.
All cameras were restored and checked, while the alarm, PA, perimeter security and remote monitoring services were tested to make sure the systems were working together correctly.
The business was left with improved visibility across its premises, including key access points, car parks, vehicle areas, internal storage spaces and external working areas.
The restored system now provides a visible deterrent, reliable footage for incident investigation and monitored protection supporting the company’s wider security and insurance arrangements.
Why Commercial CCTV Maintenance Matters
Commercial security systems can develop faults over time without it always being obvious. Cameras may stop recording, connections can fail, monitoring paths can drop out and equipment may no longer provide the coverage it was originally designed for.
Regular security system maintenance helps identify faults before they become a bigger issue. It also gives businesses greater confidence that their CCTV, alarm and remote monitoring systems are ready when they are needed.
Where CCTV or monitoring has been installed to meet an insurer’s requirements, regular servicing can also help the business identify problems that could otherwise leave important areas without the expected level of protection.
At Tameside Security, we provide commercial CCTV repairs, installations and upgrades, along with business alarm systems, remote monitoring, maintenance and ongoing support for companies across Greater Manchester.
